Connecting your social media accounts
Step One
When you log into Squarespace, go to Settings
Step Two
This is your Settings Panel. To connect your social media links, click “Social Links”
Step Three
In the space given, put in the URL of your social media links like my examples.
*The URL usually is the name of the social media with a / and then your handle. If that doesn’t work, then go to your social media profile and find the URL at the top of the browser.
Optional
If you want to PULL social media posts (like Instagram and Twitter posts) then you’ll need to take a few extra steps.
Step four
Go back to the settings > connected accounts
Step five
Once you’re in connected accounts, click “Connect Account” and then click the account you want to connect. It will ask you to sign in or log in to that account and then you’ll be connected.
Newsletter Information
Built-In Squarespace Email/Newsletter Service
There are a few options when it comes to your newsletter/mailing list. By default, I hook up the newsletter to Squarespace’s built-in mailing list software. It is FREE to use the mailing list to gather emails but there IS A FEE to actually send emails. To get around this, you can export the list and import it into any other newsletter service.
To access the newsletter settings
Hover over the newsletter block and click “edit”
Go to the “Storage” Tab
You’ll see some options below that and the Squarespace Email Campaigns will be selected as default.
To find your mailing list
Go back to the menu and click on “Marketing”
THe marketing tab will open
Click on Email Campaigns
Click on mailing lists
And you’ll be able to start new mailing lists or see the emails of people who have already signed up.
Using External Newsletter Providers
If you have another mailing list provider (like Mailchimp, Mailerlite, ConvertKit, etc.,) you can still connect those but there are additional steps that you’ll need to take and it will largely depend on the instructions given by your newsletter provider. Squarespace also integrates directly with Mailchimp.
To find the mailchimp integration
Hover over the newsletter, choose “edit,” and then go to the Storage tab. Below the Squarespace Email Campaigns, you’ll see the “connect other services” link. Click that and it will prompt you to take the next steps.
Connecting Buttons
Step One
Hover over the button you want to tweak and click “edit.”
Step Two
Click the “gear icon” underneath the “Clickthrough URL” field to pull up the list of URL options.
Step Three
If you want to link to an external URL, add the URL to the space available in “Web Address” and don’t forget to toggle the “open in new window” if you want the URL to open in a new browser window.
Step Four
If you want to connect your button to an existing page on your website, click the “page” option and when you click into the search field, you can either scroll and find the page or type and search the page. Select your option and click close and apply. Done!
Editing Buttons in other “content” blocks
To edit the button on a content block
You’ll usually find the setting in the “design” tab. You can choose whether or not you want a button, what you want the button text to say, and the URL you’d like it to be connected with.
Connecting Forms

Hover over the form and click “edit”
Step two
